Compilation and advancement of specialized sciences in the realm of education as well as the formation of various disciplines in educational science accelerated the process of studying and making educational studies scientific (p. 17).
The first volume of Educational Jurisprudence contains materials derived from the lecture series held by the author, Alireza A'räfi, since 1998 onwards. The author begins with the definition and subject of educational jurisprudence and proceeds to discuss a wide array of topics ranging from behavior, intellect, puberty, justifiable opinion, jurisprudence and new areas to predicate of fiqh, concept and kinds of guidance, relation between education and tabligh, adab and tådib, educational disciplines, ethics and education, mysticism and its relation with other disciplines, educational jurisprudence, subjects touched upon in a number of educational books like Munyat al-Murid, and fiqh and ethics.
Adopting "the precepts of learning the sciences and religions", the present book is a jurisprudential study of the five problems concerning education as follows: The first problem discusses the precept of learning regardless of different kinds of knowledge, learning methods, and religiously preferred learning in its absolute sense. The second problem concerns learning religion and discusses on the mandatory or preferred nature of seeking religion, its bases on intellectual judgment or religious precepts, and the mandatory or preferred topics of religion. The third problem discusses about the specific emphasize on learning the Islamic sciences, the relationship between personal dedication of one's heart and soul to Islam, being enlightened with belief in God and the Prophet (S), the religious rewards one may get, as well as the correctness of the claim regarding the preferred way of learning Islam at all levels of education and gradual increase of this preference. The fourth problem presents "the way of learning the needed precepts". Finally, the fifth problem focuses on the methods of taqlid and ijthad in knowing and researching religion; it brings up also the precept of a specialized and ijtihadi study of religion.
