Islamic approach to bioethics

The biological revolution created both new abilities and threats for humankind. Given its various effects on human life and society, the ethical issues affecting this revolution should be considered as one of the major international concerns of mankind. Given the great importance of biological sciences and the role they play in human's life, these sciences have created many hopes in various areas of health, nutrition, medicine, breeding and the like; while, due to the possibility of misusing them, they have also developed a lot of worries. For this reason, attention to ethical norms in this area is very important. Any neglect of the ethical issues in this field may lead to the biological, economic, agricultural, and other catastrophes. This requires one to work on the basis of the Islamic thought, deduce and extract Islamic values in different areas of bioethics, and consider them as the basis of performance.
