Mulla Muhsin Fayd Kashani was born in 1598 in Kashan, Iran. With an exceptional aptitude for scholarship, Kashani soon rose to become one of the most prominent Islamic scholars in the Safavid era, parallel to his father-in-law, the celebrated philosopher Mulla Sadra. His scholarly pursuits spanned a wide array of disciplines, including jurisprudence, theology, Qur’an and hadith commentary, philosophy, and mysticism. Kashani’s deep insights into the spiritual aspects of Islamic teachings and practices continue to inspire generations long after his passing in 1680.
